So, the problem is not in "bjam", but in Boost.Build proper? Interesting...
Maybe, you can try the Boost.Build states of 2003-07-20, 2003-07-21 and 
2003-07-22? That's the point where a large number of M6 changes was made.

It's not that good that I'm taking your time for doing binary search in time, 
but the problem happends only on your project.

In fact, there were no updated in recent 24 hours, so if you're using 
anonymous CVS HEAD, you're as current as you can get.
