   Hi.

> alias a : : <link>static <toolset>gcc  ;
> alias a : : <link>static <toolset>msvc ;

   I noticed that the everythign works fine if you call the explicit 
rule, passing it the name of the alias. That might serve as a quick-fix 
for this and as a starting point for finding cleaner solution.
