You don't need to specify the path yourself. Instead you need to specify 
the destination:

install dist : #introduce new target name "dist"
        hello
        : <location>dist
        ;

Then do "bjam dist" to build "hello" and install it in the "dist" 
subdirectory relative to the Jamfile.
