I also posted this question on Stack Overflow and with help from there I was
able to build the library.

The problem appears to be that the gregorian directory needs to be created. 
I'm new to the boost build process, but Jamfile.v2 in the date_time/build
directory has the gregorian folder in fron of $(CPP_SOURCES).cpp, the others
that I looked at did not.  Would I assume correct that that directory could
be removed to also fix the problem?
