[Boost-docs] Creating multiline Unicode symbols

I have been trying to avoid creating complex math equations (fiddly, messy and
space consuming) by using Unicode multiline symbols where possible,
but I have found it tricky to get the symbols aligned.

For example,

to produce a threeline curly bracket using the Unicode Misc Technical symbols
u2300.pdf where [upperleftcurly] is hex 23a7 etc and [space] is a

[template space[] ''' '''] [/ plain non-breaking space]

[space]
[space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][sp
ace] [upperleftcurly] infinity if ['x = x0] [br]
[space][space][space][space][space][space]['f(x; x0) = ] [middleleftcurly] [br]
[space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][space][sp
ace][space] [lowerleftcurly] zero if ['x != x0].

produces the html in the attached screen snip pdf_equation.jpg.

But the spacing is tiresome to line up by trial and error (and doesn't always
line up exactly right either - see cdf_equation.jpg).

Please can anyone suggest a better way of making Quickbook play nicer with
indenting the lines together and getting the bits of the bracket to line up
better?

Thanks.

Paul

PS We know that this isn't really the right way to do this, but several attempts
to use TeX and similar tools with Quickbook have floundered,
so suggestions of this ilk will not be much help, thank you.
