Sorry I didn't respond to these reports earlier, but I wasn't subscribed
to the this list so I wasn't aware of the reports until Martin also
mailed me privately.
Just wanted a clarification: is this one problem or two? Stephen's
original report (and, on re-reading it, Martin's) appears to be about
plain mutex, while Caleb's is about read/write mutex. Problems with the
latter taking a long time or even deadlocking wouldn't surprise me since
the tests were always slow, there are more of them now, and the code
itself has changed a lot since the last release. If that's the problem,
I'll look into what I can do about speeding them up. However, as far as
I know there haven't been any significant changes to the plain mutex
code since the last release, with the possible exception of some xtime
changes. I'll have to dig a little deeper if that's where the problem is.
