[Boost-testing] serialization trunk testing issues

I still have a couple of pending issues with the trunk tests.

a) Latest tests show that instantiation problems with
Intel compilers now seem to have been addressed.
Thanks to all those who helped with this.
However, the wide character library fails to build.
The compiler output shows some warning from spirit but
no errors.  The library fails to link with some message
which I fail to understand.

b) Como fails to build the library.  It emits
a message indicated that NULL is undefined.
I've checked in changes to address this - but
the error persists.  The data on the test matrix
shows 26 June - yet when I follow the link
to the error message - the date on the error
output shows a date from a couple of weeks
ago.  So something is amiss here.
