Oh. That's a surprise. :-)

Then I have one last question: Is there anything in the Boost build
system that remotely resembles a "make install"? 

I ask because it appears that especially the libraries are scattered
all over the place and I don't see how I could install all relevant
files to a location in, say, /usr/local/boost/{include,lib}.
