I gave it a try:

- html: works like a charm.
- onehtml ditto
- pdf: lots of messages regarding missing "hyphenation pattern for
   language en".  A pdf file is created, however.
   Is there a chance to specify a different paper size (e.g. A4)?

- docbook: not tested
- fo: not tested

- documentation: I had a little problem to locate the docbook.dtd
   because I didn't find information that it is contained in a package
   named docbook-xml

Software used: libxml2-2.5.1, libxslt-1.0.24, fop-0.20.5rc2,
j2re1.4.0_03, docbook-xml-4.2, docbook-xsl-1.60.1

Summary: looks very good, already. However, to be able to set the
paper size is important. Documentation was sufficient for me.
