[boost] Unit test lib regressions

There are a couple of newish regressions for the Unit Test lib that are
causing all libs dependent upon to fail:

gcc2.95: problems with new style string streams - there was a discussion
about fixing this, but was anything done about it?

SGI Mips Pro: is giving errors about isprint not being in namespace std: all
the relevant headers seem to have been included - does anyone know what's
going on here?
