Perhaps solution would be to have two
html pages:

   old_layout.html
and
   new_layout.html

and index.html redirect into one of these.
Whoever doesn't like one style would
simply edit the index.html, once and forever.

I personally prefere the old style.
I need index.html only to get quickly to
the documentation and with new style
it takes one second more to identify the
proper link.
