Well, msvc is pretty widely used. I wouldn't say that you
have to fix them, but I would strongly encourage it.
gcc 3.4 is sufficiently old, that I wouldn't worry about it much.

Boost has no official policy. Some libraries are warning-free.
Others are fairly noisy, although the older libraries are slowly
getting cleaned up as users complain.
