Emil, I have no idea how this is going to go.

My gut feeling is that since I fairly often get bug reports files against my 
stuff if it emits any warnings at all even at the very highest levels the 
compiler supports, then we should at least *try* to support that if it's 
practical to do so.  Only one way to find out if it's practical I'm 
afraid...
