It does and it doesnt.  It does because what i originally meant is  
that asio *currently* only provides stream-oriented file access.  The  
o/s itself, however is a different story.

It doesnt because theres already a project in the works to do exactly  
this, its just been kind of quiet and probably wont be announced for a  
while
