There is no rush. I had misinterpreted your responses as your being opposed 
to 'hash' being its own module.

Expecting me to scan the archives each time is a high bar. Perhaps others 
are capable of that; I am not.

Had you just said "I agree that splitting 'hash' is a good idea, but I don't 
have time for that before the release", that would have been that.
