I read 7 required packages there, and 11 overall components in the diagram.
I was compiling on windows, and it was worse there- as you can see on 
that same page - I couldn't even get it to work, and I came back to it 
intermittently over the course of about 6 months.
If I ever gave it another shot, I would try it on linux, but to be 
honest, would probably just go down the straight HTML+CSS route.
