AMDG I just looked at the implementation of pow<N> in boost/math/special_function.hpp. Line 54: return (N%2) ? base*positive_power<N-1>::result(base) in positive_power causes positive_power to be instantiated with all the integers from N down to 0. I think that this should use template specialization instead of ?: to keep the number of instantiations down, even though this probably won't affect the runtime cost. In Christ, Steven Watanabe

[shifted_ptr] Using local heap

Greetings everyone, I have uploaded a new version in both the Sanbox and Vault. The one in the sandbox includes a test that confirms there is still a bug to correct, thanks to Steven. I will fix it later during the week. shifted_ptr now uses a local heap and I am encouraging its usage because of the benefits and speedups over system allocators. Regards, -Phil

Hi, all `gacap' is template library of "Generating All Combinations and Permutations". It's supper of std::next_permutation() and std::prev_permutation(). Hello, I need to fix ticket 1715 for Debian's Boost 1.35.0 packages. From the ticket, it's unclear what the final fix is. I am trying to build Boost for G++ 32-bit applications on an Opteron system running Linux Fedora Core 3. "Unknown compiler version"

Hi, quite a number of headers in boost/config/compiler have bits like this: # error "Unknown compiler version - please run the configure tests and report the results" I think this cause more hard than good these days. If a new version of an otherwise perfectly conforming compiler is released, this error will be emitted when compiling Boost. So, users would have to manually hack the config headers and keep this change locally. And, it's likely that some users won't even bother -- especially given that the message say to run some configure tests, and where those configure tests are is not clear. And definitely, those tests have nothing to do with the 'configure' script at the top-level dir. So, the message is likely to totally confuse some users, and force other users to keep local modifications to boost. Can we either remove this check, or assume that unknown version of compiler is identical in behaviour to the last known one? Thanks, Volodya

Review Request: Generalization of the Pimpl idiom

I hope I am following the submission procedure correctly. I read the guidelines and I seem to do what is needed. Apologies if I missed something.
