Is there a serialization::is_archive<> ?

Hi all, while trying to add serialization support for fusion sequences I came across the need to figure out whether a given type actually is an archive. Is there a boost::serialization::is_archive<> metafunction available? And if not, what's the best way to implement this? Regards Hartmut

However, I got it to compile with gcc-mingw-3.4.5 - so this seems to be an msvc-9.0 issue. Thanks for pointing me into the right direction! By the way, I notice you are the original author of the Boost.Coroutine library. Do you have any intention of continuing development on this project, so as to actually get it accepted into boost? It just says "failed compile-c-c++", but there is no reason specified as to why that is. I'm compiling boost directly from the trunk svn. All I did was copy & paste the Boost.Coroutine library from the vault into the appropriate folders. I bet I did something wrong, but alas, I have no clue what. Cheers, a new version of Mirror library, with quite a few changes, is available both in the sandbox and in the vault. Important changes in this version: - added two functions; for_each and reverse_for_each working with meta_class<>::attributes, meta_class<>::all_attributes and meta_class<>::base_classes, which allow to call a functor for every member attribute and base class of a reflected class. - added at and size algorithm working with attributes, all_attributes and base_classes of a meta_class<> - removed the original for_each static functions from meta_class::attributes and meta_class::all_attributes - updated existing examples to show the new functionality - added an 'alpha' implementation of meta_class traversal that 'guides' a custom visitor through the structure of the reflected class. Two versions ('deep' and 'flat' traversal) are available. - added a new example showing traversal by a sample visitor, that is writing out XML-like info about the given class to stdout, with several elaborate classes. any comments are welcome. As GCC correctly complains about, i in get must be a compile-time constant, not some value that can change during the execution of the program. To see why, consider the case where your tuple type had been defined as: // component 1 is not a double bout a char* typedef boost::tuple<double,char*,double> tuple; Now, take a look again at the expression: double val = boost::get(corr[j])); What happens when i==1? The compiler cannot know in advance what values i will take, so it demands that i be a compile-time constant so as to be able to do its type checking. In your particular case where all the component types are the same, you can consider replacing the tuple with boost::array. I tried to use boost::tuple for the first time, and soon ran into a problem. I can't get values using boost::get where i is an int. samplec code typedef boost::tuple<double,double,double> tuple; void foo() { std::vector<tuple> corr = boost::assign::tuple_list_of ( 1.0, 0.1, -0.1 ) ( 0.1, 1.0, 0.4 ) ( -0.1, 0.4, 1.0 ); for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++) for (int j = 0; j < 3; j++) { double val = boost::get( corr[j] ); } } Using Visual Studio 2005 this comes give me a compiler error: error C2971: 'boost::tuples::get' : template parameter 'N' : 'i' : a local variable cannot be used as a non-type argument then when I move the int i declaration outside of the function foo. I get a new error: error C2975: 'N' : invalid template argument for 'boost::tuples::get', expected compile-time constant expression What do I need to do to access values in a tuple with an index i?
