Thank you to everybody who responded to my post. I used the solution sugested by several people who said I should use control objects, with the function wait. I posted the final version of my code. [serialization][graph] Links to the getting started documentation

Hi, Both serialization and graph documentation contains links to sections of the old getting started documentation which was rewritten a while ago, so now they just end up at the getting started introduction. The attached patches try to change the links to somewhere more useful. In the graph documentation, I changed the 'Boost Jam Build Instructions' link to point to the instructions in boost build, as getting started doesn't seem to have a single location to point to. Is it okay to commit them (for trunk and release)? Daniel

Hello all, I've fixed a load of links in the fix-links branch. [unordered] memory questions

I'm on a platform where no memory can be dynamically allocated before main and all dynamically allocated memory must be released before main returns. Is there a way to ensure this behavior with boost's unordered containers if they have static duration? I.e. does the default constructor allocate memory and does clear or default construct + swap release all memory? Thanks, Michael Marcin

I defined this class for managing a thread group, with different priorities for different threads http://rafb.net/p/u0LDDP45.html I wrote this test example: http://rafb.net/p/bAIhrh79.html it works perfectly in linux, generating this output : http://acumenconsultinginc.net/linux.results.txt on windows, it calls the appropriate locks, but it does not stop when two locks, lock the same mutex: http://acumenconsultinginc.net/windows.results.txt. My class for managing threads, based upon priorities, won't work unless the previous small code fragment deadlocks. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! [Logging] Support for syslog ?

Dear All, I've decided to port one of my apps to the proposed logging library so that I can write a review. A couple of issues have come up immediately: - This program currently logs using syslog. I was expecting to find a back-end for this logging library for syslog, since it is the standard logging mechanism on POSIX. But I can't see anything. Am I missing something, or is it really not there? - I spent a while trying to work out how to compile the library. I have now come to the conclusion that it is header-only, and that it's only the tests and the examples (called "scenarios") that you might want to compile by following the instructions in the documentation. Is this right? From what I can see so far, using this library is not going to be a compelling alternative to the concise #include <syslog.h> syslog(LOG_WARN,"Blob %d failed to %s",n,x); Cheers, Phil.
