Boost Threads Condition may block forever on clock change

Hello, I've noticed a strange change in behaviour when condition is called with xtime parameter, condition::timed_wait. If right after the condition is called the clock is moved back the code never exits from condition unless signalled, even moving the clock back forward did not seem to fix the problem. The test was done on Windows XP. Is this desired behaviour or a bug? It seems strange that the condition is based on the current time and not just on a time offset. Any help with resolving this would be really appreciated. Thank you, Alex

constrained_value.hpp

One implementation detail of the date_time library is the constrained_value template class (constrained_value.hpp). I think this class is useful enough that it should be part of boost's public interface (maybe part of the utility library). After 1.35 is released, how difficult would it be to move this into the public interface? Joe Gottman

[test] runnning the debugger when an assertion fails

Hi Gennadiy, http://www.boost.org/libs/test/doc/usage/command_line.html states "If you got "memory access violation" message (or any other message indication fatal or system error) when you run you test, to get more information of error location add --catch_system_errors=no to the test run command line. Now run the test again and it will create a coredump you could analyze using you preferable debugger. Or run it under debugger in a first place and it will break at the point of failure." I tried adding --catch_system_errors=no to the run-command in bjam, and I tried specifying it manually on the command line. No luck. I'm using windows xp, and visual c++8. Is it not possible to break into the debugger from a unit-test? Thanks -Thorsten

They are not critical to Boost System and are only converted to some Boost System constants as a convenience to the user. My guess is that they should not be used by Boost System unless the base OS defines them. Tested with the Boost System library distributed with the Boost ASIO 1.38 release. [bind] performance tuning for a bad compiler

I'm trying to make local modifications to bind to improve the code generated the compiler I have to use.
