Hi, After complaints about the customization way, I'm making Boost.Range support for ATL/WTL/MFC collections and strings. I know current Boost.Range contains a few and those are somewhat illegal. ;-) Well, before I upload them to Vault, I want a namespace and macro-prefix for the implementation something like boost::ranges::??? and BOOST_RANGES_???. [Boost.Build V2] Digital Mars toolset

As a part of making Boost.Build V2 fully ready for C++ Boost, I've ported the dmc toolset from V1. The new toolset is attached for convenience. For now, STLPort support is not implemented. [regex] regex_timer test issue

Hello! In the recent round of Boost.Build V1 vs. Boost.Build V2 test result comparison, there's a problem with regex_timer test. Under V2, the following link error is produced: regex_timer.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__PeekMessageA@20 referenced in function __catch$_main$0 .. \bin.v2\libs\regex\example\regex_timer.test\msvc\debug\threading-multi\regex_timer.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals Does anybody have an idea what that message is telling and how to avoid it? I can't find anything special in V1 Jamfile. Thanks in advance, Volodya

[config] Are tests in 'libs/config' or in 'status'?

John, sorry for bothering you again, but why there's both libs/config/test/Jamfile, and some config-related enties in status/Jamfile (as of CVS HEAD today). That's yet another thing that can potentially get out of sync. Or there's some good reason for duplication, like you not wanting to run those auto-generated tests as part of main regression suite? - Volodya

I know that I can write small function, but I already wrote too much such small functions. I want to use this functor with smart_ptr, which allows to call a function, but I need an assignment. After some thought, and complaints from some, I've change the link style of the new design to use colored links. It's a tyle similar to the one I use in my blog, and although it is also similar to the style use in Wikipedia there are some significant differences. So floodgates open for comments on this style. In particular if this is an improvement or not? I'm particularly interested in visibility issues. Are the links visible enough? Dear Arkadiy, My implementation of result_of heavily relies on BOOST_LVALUE_TYPEOF. Is it a big problem just to let it stay in the library? Even being not documented in public interface. Dear Boost members, Some of you may already be aware that the authors of Boost.Interval (Herve Bronnimann, Guillaume Melquiond and myself) are working on a proposal to standardize interval arithmetic in C++. This work has several facets which require different kinds of expertise : - floating point semantic aspects, - C++ library design aspects, the topic of boost, - expertise in all kinds of interval arithmetic usage. We have already issued an initial version of the proposal, which was presented in Mont-Tremblant, and which you can find here : http://www-sop.inria.fr/geometrica/team/Sylvain.Pion/cxx/ This version already received a lot of comments, and we will prepare a revision to integrate these comments. Hi, Compiling the file boost/test/impl/execution_monitor.ipp with gcc-3.4 ( freebsd ) with the following : g++ -O2 -Werror -Wall -W test.cpp ( test.cpp contains only #include <boost/test/impl/execution_monitor.ipp> ) produces two warnings: boost/test/impl/execution_monitor.ipp:422 warning: variable 'result' might be clobbered by `longjmp' or `vfork' boost/test/impl/execution_monitor.ipp:423 warning: variable 'ec' might be clobbered by `longjmp' or `vfork' Moving the two variables declarations a few lines down, after the volatile int sigtype = sigsetjmp( signal_handler::jump_buffer(), 1 ); solves the problem.
