Ehm... that was really necessary. Turns out NT's DEL command issues warning to
stderr when the file does not exist, *even with the /F switch*. I've restored
the check for file existence on NT, and at the same time removed some other
conditionals which are not necessary now. Could you check the new version
still works for you?
