Subject: [Boost-build] boost 1.44 is this a dodgy release ?
From: Avi Bahra (avibahra_at_[hidden])

Problems migrating to boost 1.44 (from boost 1.43)
Am I right in assuming this this known bad release ?
On Linux: serialization of date/time broken, i.e gcc 4.2.1 and gcc 4.5
/var/tmp/ma0/boost/boost_1_44_0/boost/date_time/posix_time/time_serialize.hpp:42:
error: there are no arguments to make_nvp that depend on a template
parameter, so a declaration of make_nvp must be available
On Aix: boost build fails for file system, looks like new v3 filesystem broken.
vacpp.compile.c++
tmpBuildDir/boost/bin.v2/libs/filesystem/build/vacpp/debug/link-static/threading-multi/v3/src/operations.o
"./boost/filesystem/v3/path.hpp", line 476.7: 1540-0716 (S) The
template argument "boost::iterator" does not match the template
parameter "class Derived".
If these are known issues should I just wait for boost 1.45 ?
Also wondering if the release notes should say for each lib
what compilers it was tested against.
Best regards,
Ta,
Avi
