I wouldn't open a bug for that. It makes sense to set the background
to white, as people set their browser backgrounds to custom colours -
if you set the text colour you also need to set the background colour
(and vice versa) to make sure the text is visible.
Since you're editing the css, you can probably just put your rule
after theirs, or change theirs to use 'background-color: white', which
won't override 'background-image'.
